Formula comparison
CGPA x10 vs x9.5 Percentage Conversion
The same CGPA can produce different percentages depending on whether a university uses x10 or x9.5. This matters most near 60%, 65%, and 70% eligibility filters used by recruiters, banks, PSUs, and government forms.
Why the Difference Matters
Under x10, 6.0 CGPA is exactly 60%. Under x9.5, students usually need a CGPA slightly above 6.3 to clear the same 60% filter. Using the wrong multiplier can understate or overstate your academic percentage during document verification.
